French engine maker Snecma will focus on two key commercial propulsion efforts in 2011 as it increases civil engine production to new levels and simultaneously nears major development milestones for the Leap-X with CFM International partner General Electric. "We have to understand the challenge we are dealing with as the rates go up on almost every program," says Snecma Commercial Engines General Manager Francois Planaud. "So we have plans to make sure we can continue to ramp up in our industrial set-up as well as in our maintenance and spare parts activity."
