I applaud Graham Lake's statements in his commentary regarding the challenges facing global air traffic management (AW&ST March 8, p. 49).rnWhile the safe separation of aircraft must always remain the primary task of air navigation service providers (ANSP), the future demand on global resources by the airlines requires that efficiency must become a very close second. Accordingly, Lake calls on ANSP to become "high-performance organizations," which subscribe to a "culture of continual improvement."
