A team of U.S. spacecraft controllers is maintaining an old Earth-science satellite in a precari- ' ous orbit around the second Earth-Moon Lagrangian point (L2), and has another en route tornLunar LI between the Earth and the Moon in the first-ever use of the imaginary points where the gravity of the Sun, Earth and Moon are in balance. The Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence and Electrodynamics of the Moon's Interaction with the Sun (Artemis) mission will spend the next several months studying the Moon's magnetosphere from the two Lagrangian points before continuing the job from elliptical lunar orbits indefinitely.
