The two X-34 reusable launch vehicle technology testbeds, kept in storage at Edwards AFB, Calif., since the program was canceled in 2001, were moved to nearby Mojave Air and Space Port on Nov. 16. Orbital Sciences Corp., the manufacturer, says the vehicles are being relocated to a more convenient storage location, and it denied suggestions circulating at Mojave that they are to be donated to a locally based, unnamed aerospace company interested in leveraging the technology to aid in its suborbital development plans.
