Conventional wisdom holds that a weak dollar benefits U.S. exports by giving domestic producers an edge over competing products priced in euros and other currencies. But don't argue that to Joe Murphy.rnMurphy is chairman of Ferco Group, a Franklin, Ohio-based manufacturer of aircraft engine components. Credit is still hard to come by, more than offsetting any advantages the 150-employee company sees from the low dollar. And if the greenback continues to fall, the price of raw materials that have to bernsourced abroad, such as oil and metals, could continue to soar. "The cost of nickel and titanium is eating our lunch," he laments.
