Gulfstream has begun flight testing its G250 super mid-size business jet following its first flight on Dec. 11 at manufacturing partner Israel Aerospace Industries in Tel Aviv.rnThe aircraft completed a 3-hr. 20-min. flight. The G25O is a derivative of the lAI-developed Galaxy business jet, which was acquired by Gulfstream and rebranded the G200. The aircraft has an all-new larger wing, stretched fuselage, new T-tail, more powerful Honeywell HTF7250G engines and Rockwell Collins' Fusion integrated flightdeck.rnSales of Gulfstream's mid-size G150 and G200 have been affected by the global financial meltdown, and production is expected to drop again next year. However, the company is taking orders for the G250 and anticipates that more buyers will line up when deliveries begin in 2011.
