Until now, Embraer's executive aviation business has been a one-trick pony, but this year the Brazilian airframer is establishing itself as a broad-based presence in the business jet market. The lone production offering for Embraer's bizjet customers has been the Legacy 600, the executive jet version of the ERJ 135. But this year, two new aircraft are due to be certificated and placed in customer hands. The first will be the Phenom 100 very light jet, to be delivered to a U.S. buyer. It will be followed by the first Lineage 1000-the bizjet derivative of the 190 regional jet. The initial Lineage is slated to be handed over to a Middle East customer by year-end.
