摘要

Since the era of aviation pioneers, talented French artists have immortalized milestones as well as the romance of flight. Several painters became famous well beyond France such as the late Paul Lengelle, who was in charge of Aviation Week's renowned calendar for many years. Many of his colleagues and friends also acquired international fame, such as Albert Brenet, Philippe Mitschke and Dominique Maunoury. Today, a new generation is perpetuating the tradition and for the first time, AW&ST presents selected works illustrating a wide range of talents.
