Suppliers say the commercial avionics market is recovering as fast as it ever has after past downturns, and this trend should continue through most of the decade. The market is robust for "forward fit" avionics in new commercial aircraft and business jets, with the three big players in the airline and bizjet sector—Thales, Rockwell Collins and Honeywell—prospering along with other suppliers. New aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and A350 transports and A400M military airlifter are providing lots of opportunities, as is the Boeing 787, which is selling briskly in a market that's more concerned about fuel efficiency than ever before.
