The marriage of Beechcraft's Bonanza G36 and Garmin's G1000 digital, fully integrated avionics system gives an already classic airplane a new lease on life that will help keep it abreast of the competition. The G36 is the latest generation of the company's highly successful Model 36 that was introduced in 1968. Since then, the airplane has undergone a long series of upgrades, including turbocharged versions, and more than 3,600 examples have been built. Although nearly identical in appearance to the A36 that it replaces, the G36 has been given yet another effective facelift inside and out to keep it on the cutting edge of customer expectations. But it's the installation of a fully integrated glass cockpit that moves the G36 to the head of its class.
