Amajor overhaul at Airbus is in the works as company CEO Gustav Humbert tries to make the aircraft maker more agile and competi-tive with Boeing. The planned organizational and operational transformation in-eludes broadening the manufacturer's industrial base and outsourcing more work to partners in key markets. The cycle and costs of de-veloping new akcraft are to be reduced by up to 4.0%, according to internal discussions revealed by Chairman and EADS Co-CEO Noel Forgeard.
