With critical decisions looming on production, product and management strategies to be adopted by EADS and its Airbus affiliate, controversy regarding alleged insider trading seems to be fading into the background, for now. But calls for the company to bring in a new management team are growing louder. Board members are scheduled to meet next week to review Airbus's much anticipated mid-size aircraft strategy, company officials say. The new design, sometimes referred to as the A370, would replace the stillborn A350 and serve as a substitute for the four-engine long-range A340 as well as the A330 twin-jet. Featuring a wider fuselage and higher cruise speed than the existing models, it would be aimed at both the Boeing 777 and the 787 product lines.
