摘要

NATO and Eurocontrol air traffic management are working to reduce the number of incidents in which fighters are scrambled in response to a lack of communications from commercial aircraft. The alliance recorded nearly 500 so-called Comloss incidents within European airspace in 2019. Although the majority are resolved in minutes, around a sixth of those cases prompt the scrambling of fighters, equivalent to some 80 fighter launches a year.
