摘要

A decade-long pursuit of all-wing unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) by China's state-owned aerospace contractors led to a new swagger on display at the country's largest aviation event. In a routine honed since 2006, China's largest aviation companies, such as Avic, Casc and Casic, could be counted on to roll out subscale models of all-wing UAS every two years in the Airshow China exhibit halls. But this year was different. As large, all-wing aircraft continue flight tests elsewhere in China, Zhuhai exhibitors substituted flying hardware for subscale models in the static display. Instead of offering little to no information, one company, Casc, unveiled a full-scale mockup of an internally funded, all-wing combat aircraft project and allowed journalists to in-terview the chief engineer in English.
