Boeing's evolutionary 777-300ER, sporting a combination of a larger cabin and longer range, is scheduled to enter service with Air France within the next several months. The 777 extended-range version of the 300 model was launched in early 2000, while rollout of the planned 750,000-lb.-takeoff-gross-weight transport took place in November 2002. Since the rollout and a flight test program that reached 1,400 hr., the performance and capability of the -300ER have expanded. The first production -300ER, No. 521, will have flown nearly 100 additional hr. prior to delivery, as part of the process that led to FAA certification last month.
