Under the new ownership of Leonardo Helicopters, Kopter's SH09 is inching its way toward market entry. The Swiss-developed single-engine light helicopter has faced more than its fair share of drama, even discounting the COVID-19 pandemic. Kopter has had to overcome struggles with its supply chain and mounting delays to the rotor-craft's development program. But the company now is looking to deliver the helicopter to customers by the end of 2022 or early 2023 and plans an ambitious technology road map that will even consider hybrid-electric propulsion.
