International partnerships in Europe have resulted in the successful development of two air-launched cruise missiles, but differing approaches by France and the UK could impede development of a next-generation weapon. The two countries have had a long history of missile development through the industrial relationship with missile manufacturer MBDA, and they also have shared views on military doctrine and expeditionary warfare.
