ACQUISITIONS ARE PICKING UP in aerospace and defense (A&D), and so are the stock markets, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surpassing 30,000. These advances are coming together in the latest trend in public-company formation, and A&D is a key area. Special-purpose acquisition companies (SPAC) are the new “belles of the ball,” one dealmaker told the Aviation Week M&A Conference in November. “A number of A&D SPACs are actively looking at targets,” he said.
