U.S. startup Breeze Airways, led by JetBlue Airways founder David Neeleman, launched operations with Embraer E- Jets on May 14. Breeze plans to serve 16 destinations by July 22. The forced diversion of a Ryanair Boeing 737-800 flight headed to Vilnius, Lithuania, by the Belarus government on May 23 to detain a journalist on board, received swift condemnation from the international aviation community (page 14).
