The Eurofighter consortium sees the potential for further delays in the Joint Strike Fighter program as a window of opportunity for additional export sales and is already trying to convince the Netherlands to join the four-nation program. Boeing and Lockheed Martin's team are on track to each fly two JSF prototypes before the end of the year. But, hit by con-gressional funding cuts, the overall program has already slipped by six months and uncertainties surrounding the project and upcoming presidential elections are expected to spell further delays. That could open up more room for Eurofighter which is scheduled to be ready for export starting in 2004.
