After some preliminary rearrangement of its Joint Strike Fighter management last month, Lockheed Martin has now named an executive vice president as the program's new manager. Tom Burbage, who successfully directed the F-22's stealth fighter's development phase, took over total responsibility for JSF last week. Frank Cappuccio, vice president and JSF program manager since early 1998, will spend the next three months preparing Lockheed Martin's proposal for the engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) phase of the program. He will report directly to Burbage as will Harry Blot and Henry Levine. Blot remains vice president and deputy program manager. Levine is vice president of day-to-day operations of the JSF program.
