The U.K. prerequisite that it be able to "independently" support and verify stealth aspects of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is high on the agenda for crucial meetings between senior British and American officials and industry executives. British Minister for Defense Procurement Paul Drayson met with senior Lockheed Martin executives last week to discuss key issues, as London prepares to sign off on the next phase of the program. The British chief of defense procurement Peter Spencer also met with his U.S. counterpart, Kenneth J. Kreig, in Brussels for talks on the program.
