Royal Air Maroc is putting the final touches on a plan to modernize and expand its long-haul fleet over the next 12 years but has no desire to enter into any extensive strategic alliances. "We realize that our long-range fleet doesn't really fit our needs," said Mohamed Hassad, chairman and CEO of the airline. The fleet includes two 757-200s that are too small for Royal Air Maroc's operations to the Middle East and South Africa, while its two 747s (a -200 and a -400) are too large for its New York and Montreal routes during the low season, he said. "So the solution lies in between."
