The former Lucas Aerospace has purchased a French flight systems producer, allowing parent company TRW Inc. to become the dominant supplier in the highly fragmented market for flight control actuation systems. The acquisition of SAMM, a subsidiary of the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group, also positions TRW to expand its presence in Europe's aerospace industry and significantly increase its participation in civil and commercial aircraft programs in coming years.
