The U.S. Army's plans to field a modern signals intelligence, electronic attack system have taken another turn, with the operational community wanting the service to drop the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter as the airborne platform and, instead, field a system on unmanned aerial vehicles. The Prophet program is supposed to develop an airborne and ground sigint and electronic attack system to serve as the main intelligence source for division and armored cavalry regiment commanders. It's designed to locate, collect and allow for electronic attack, or jamming, of emitters in a 150-km.-wide by 120-km.-deep area of operations.
