The giant airbus 380 features subtle cockpit design. It balances new concepts and technologies within an existing framework to provide a familiar, yet easi-er-to-use pilot workspace. The human-machine interface (HMI) is interactive and intuitive, reflecting "a cockpit designed around the pilot," says Jean-Francois Desmoulins, Airbus cockpit functions manager. "The key to our approach in creating the A380 cockpit is to maintain commonality with other Airbus aircraft, while embracing new technology where it brings worthwhile benefits."
