The S.E.5a, a WW I Scout produced by the Royal Aircraft Factory back in 1916, is one of the most widely known aircraft to come out of the Great War. It is a true aviation icon, and epitomizes early British aeroplane design. It was powerful with its then-new 150-horsepower Hispano-Suiza V8 engine, maneuverable with its four big ailerons, and inherently stable which made it pilot-friendly and an excellent gun platform, especially for new pilots finding their way to the front. With a top speed of 138mph, it was also one of the fastest aircraft of its day. ParkZone too, a well-known name in the backyard and park flyer segment of our hobby, is recognized as being a producer of great-flying models. So you know that if ParkZone is going to produce a classic aviation icon like the S.E.5a, they're going to do it right.
