Years ago, while blowing the grass around at the local park doing torque rolls and some high-alpha stuff, an onlooker caught me off guard when he asked, "How does that thing fly? It doesn't have an airfoil!" With my limited knowledge, I admitted that the power-to-weight ratio has more to do with my antics than any other generated lift factor. He then added how he worked In the aerospace Industry as an engineer and watching my flat foam model fly completely defied what he learned In school. I like to think of my profile models as "sails" In the air which make and use their own "wind" to create flight. Blast air in a control surface's direction and an appropriate reaction takes place. Keeping the model In flight is primarily the motor's doing; as the propeller spins, air Is continuing to flow at a rate which pulls the lightly loaded plane through the air.
