摘要

In the 1930s, O.G. Corben produced homebuilt aircraft designs, and among them was his lovely Super Ace, which was designed to use a 40hp Ford Model A automobile engine. In spite of its appealing lines and good handling qualities, it was never built in large quantities because of its engine's limited power, I always thought that the Corben -Super Ace had wonderful proportions for a scale model. My love affair with this design began when I saw a plan for a free-flight version in a 1955 issue of Model Airplane News. Like so many projects, I set this one aside until 1967, when I had begun flying Cox 010-powered micro-scale RC models and had designed a 19-inch Super Ace (published in the December 1968 issue of Model Airplane News). Now that light, reliable electric drive systems and radio equipment are available, I decided to revisit the Super Ace.
