From 2009 to 2011, China Minsheng Banking Corp Ltd (a share stock code at the Shanghai Stock Exchange: 600016, H share stock code at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange: 01988, the bank) realised yearly net profit growth rates of 53.4%, 45.25% and 58.81 % respectively, and came out on top in the Chinese banking industry. The rapid increase in net profit of the bank was achieved on the basis of organic growth rather than acquisitive growth. In the past several years, the growth speed of the bank's net profit was much higher than that of its total assets. The bank's return on assets (ROA) increased from 0.80% in 2008 to 1.41% in 2011, while return on equity (ROE) rose from 15.23% in 2008, to 23.95% in 2011.
