Despite the hype for biometrics in past years, the uptake of the devices has remained quite slow, according to IMS Research. And although price, user acceptance and legislation continue to be hurdles that limit the use of biometrics, the group claims that the industry could be about to turn a corner.rnA few devices have overcome these barriers and found industry niches, say IMS Research. In its latest biometrics market report, the company says that the global market for fingerprint devices will reach US$650 million by 2013.
