摘要

The Metropolitan Railway station at Edgware Road c.1925. The station was remodelled in 1910, work which had included the rearrangement of the trackwork. This photograph was taken from the down (westbound) platform, looking east, and the train in the down siding was 1906 saloon stock which was built for the Hammersmith and City line and owned jointly by the GWR and Metropolitan Railway. The train may have been in use on the shuttle service to and from Addison Road. The full electric service at the station was complete and augmented in early April 1907. The footbridge in the foreground and gallery to the left, which served a new entrance in Marylebone Road, were part of the 1910 work. The footbridge partly covered what had once been the south side engine sheds which were abolished in September 1910.
