1. Neither grounding nor not grounding vehicles, alone, will provide worker protection from the hazards associated with a vehicle that becomes energized via contact with system voltage.rn2. Ground worker protection from the hazards associated with a vehicle that becomes energized via contact with system voltage can only be realized by ensuring workers work from within an equipotential zone, or they are isolated or insulated from the step and touch potentials that occur when a vehicle makes contact with system voltage, irrespective of whether the vehicle is grounded or not. Protecting members of the public from these hazards can only be accomplished by eliminating the hazard, i.e. de-energizing the circuit, or by isolating the public from these hazards.
