摘要

Los Bestias' projects render visible a number of issues that-to a large extent-remain hidden undercurrents of architectural practice and urban life. The demands for physical spaces-both built, constructed infrastructure and open spaces with truly public access-underlie the discourses of architectural and urban development. Its shape and principle are at stake for politicians and their public policies and a wide variety of resistance movements alike-for the so-called global metropolises and the Third World cities.66 As David Harvey has recently written, "The question of what kind of city we want cannot be divorced from the question what kind of people we want to be, what kinds of social relations we seek, what relations to nature we cherish, what style of life we desire, what aesthetic values we hold."
