More than 70 officials of foreign embassies and international organizations attended a reception hosted by CAS on 6 April in Beijing, marking the start of a publicity campaign entitled "Approaching Chinese Academy of Sciences."rnAt the event, CAS President LU Yongxiang briefed the guests about the achievements of his academy in the fields of basic science, high-tech development and issues concerning sustainable development, as well as the developments scored by the "Knowledge Innovation Program" at CAS and its new philosophy for development.
