Prof. SUN Song, a marine ecologist, has been appointed the new director of the CAS Institute of Oceanology (IOCAS) in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province. He will replace Prof. XIANG Jianhai, who is retiring, to take the helm of the largest and most comprehensive multidisciplinary marine research center in China.
