IALA is very grateful to the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) for having donated a new base for the beautiful vintage optic (1904) that has graced lALA's offices in Saint-Germain-en-Laye since 1991. The splendid pedestal has a distinct authentic look and was constructed with great care at the DMAs in-house buoy yard in Korsoer, Denmark. It was installed in the spacious lounge area of the IALA Headquarters at 10 rue des Gaudines with the eager assistance of several ENG Committee delegates and Secretariat staff. An integrated controller provides the choice of displaying a fixed or flashing light, adding to the unique attraction of what is a truly unique maritime artefact. Thank you DMA!
