This edition of your Bulletin will update you on a number of important events and developments for IALA. A very successful Council Meeting (session 60) has just been held in Kuala Lumpur by the kind invitation of IALA Councillor Mr. Baharin Bin Dato'Abdul Hamid, Director General of the Light Dues Board, Peninsular Malaysia. At the meeting I had the opportunity to brief the Council on the latest organisational developments in IALA effective from I May 2015. The organisation now includes 3 main pillars: Policy/Technical Operations,Administration and Finance and the World Wide Academy. The new structure includes the recruitment of one additional position into the administrative area to secure the service, including IT and HQ facilities to our members. The technical area will be strengthened by inclusion of a full time coordination resource to ensure that the Committees are appropriately directed and supported. In addition, a seconded, highly qualified technical officer will be placed within this team later this year. The World Wide Academy has also undergone some changes. There is now a full time in-office resource for Programme Management supervised by aVice Dean. The IALA team is sure that these changes will be beneficial for the service and support you can expect from the Secretariat. You can find more information on the new structure on the IALA web site.
