We would like to start with the awarding of the second phase of the project for the renovation and automation of long-range lighthouses in Mexico, called by the SCT (Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Trans-portes).This project includes the supply and installation of MBR400-X long-range rotating beacons of 24nm range, based on Xenon technology, and their connection to a Remote Monitoring and Control (RMC) system by satellite communication.The use of satellite was decided by the Mexican Authorities because there were no other possible communication means with many of the lighthouses concerned, due to their isolate and remote locations. As an additional monitored feature, and in order to improve security, those lighthouses have been fitted with intrusion sensors integrated in the RMC System. It is the first remote monitoring system by satellite operating successfully in Mexico, hence we were awarded the second phase.There are so far about thirty (30) lighthouses modernized with this technology in this country. As regards APIs (Administraciones Portuarias Integrales), we emphasize the equipment supplied to API TUXPAN to improve the beaconing in that area, consisting oft 5 units of RBM-3 X+S Band frequency-agile Racons, 45 units of various marine LED lanterns and 17 units of long-range LED leading lights model MEL350L. It has been arduous to prepare our beacons to the requirements of the customer. Happily, we have achieved to become a registered supplier of the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) by delivering a good number of LED marine lanterns strictly according to ACP specifications, which have received the client's acceptance in full. We continued our supplies to OCHINA (Ofi-cina Coordinadora de Hidrografia y Navega-cion). Fully aware of the great advantage of Elastomer over Polyethylene, OCHINA has purchased from MSM several kinds of Elastomer buoys this year, among which we underline our 3m diameter EBM 30 Mooring Buoys equipped with hooks and special mooring sets including high grip-power anchors, our EBM 120 Spar Buoys of 12m in length and our 0.8m diameter EBM08 Tubular Buoys with helical anchor moorings and ecological sinkers specially made for access channels. It is also important to note the supply of a great number of LED marine beacons of multiple luminous ranges equipped with a Remote Monitoring and Control System via GSM, radio and satellite communications.A special mention goes to the modernizing of Isla de Patos lighthouse, a place visited by Christopher Columbus when he stepped on the mainland for the first time in 1498.. .This lighthouse has been renewed with a MBR400-X Long-Range Rotating Beacon with Xenon Lamps of 24 nm range, a RBM-3 Frequency-Agile X+S Band Racon and a remote monitoring & control unit via radio. In Colombia, DIMAR (Direccion General Ma-ritima) has made a strong bet for MSM to acquire a complete set of LED equipment of latest generation for long range: two MBR900L compact LED Rotating Lights of 24nm nominal range, which are the LED rotating beacons reaching the longest luminous range in the world; two MBR300L LED Rotating Beacons of 20nm range; one High-Definition LED Sector Light model MEL500L of 5 nm day range, intended for the entrance channel to the Port of Cartagena; as well as miscellaneous equipment for lighthouses.All these products have been provided with solar power systems, thanks to their minimal energy consumption.
