Two specimens of Glyptophidium argenteum Alcock, 1889 and G. lucidum Smith and Radcliffe in Radcliffe, 1913, collected from Suruga Bay, Japan, were recently found in the collection of the National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo. The specimens represent the first records from Japan and the northernmost records of the two species. Descriptions and photographs of the Japanese specimens are provided.
