摘要

The article focuses on the teaching of business ethics, how this can be done and the known effects of teaching in this area. Traditionally business ethics research has studied effects such as awareness/attitudes and moral reasoning ability. The article presents and analyses parts of data from an empirical study done in 1997, which included a sample of 449 Norwegian academics in private business (business economists and engineers). The analysis implies that those academics, of all ages from 24 to 69 years, who have taken a short course in philosophy or ethics have a significantly higher knowledge of philosophy and that philosophy knowledge seems to result in significantly better moral reasoning ability. In contrast to this, however, no correlation between moral attitudes or moral decision-making behaviour was found.
