Every year, some 220 million televisions are sold globally, along with millions of tons of cardboard boxes. While some are recycled, most are not. Then there's the plastic used in the TV and remote control, and the batteries used in the remotes, which similarly pose recycling challenges.To reduce waste, Samsung designs its TVs with the environment in mind. Samsung has developed eco-packaging so consumers can transform their boxes into small tables, shelves and other useful household items. Thecompany is also incorporating solar cell batteries into its TV remotes and recycled plastic into various products.
