"Usually, about seven people would show up," he says. Not anymore. When Turner spoke at a health-care conference in San Francisco in January, it was standing-room only, "with at least 300 people in the room," he says. To Turner, that's proof that a new generation of investors is discovering biotechnology. And for many, it's love at first sight.
