The integration of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) into civil airspace is projected to generate $89 billion in revenues over the next decade, according to the Aerospace Industries Association. This integration poses regulatory, legal, insurance and technology challenges that are only now starting to be addressed. Securing access to the required bandwidth and spectrum for civilian UAS communications is a key issue that operators must overcome.
