In its much-anticipated judgment, the Supreme Court of Canada has confirmed the constitutionality of the federal Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (GGPPA). The majority opinion of the Court concludes that the "national concern" branch of Parliament's "peace, order and good government" (POGG) power under s. 91 of the Constitution Act, 1867 provides the constitutional basis of the GGPPA.
