The Jersey breed in Canada has experienced many changes in the past nine years. Brian Sayles of Paris, Ontario (the "prettiest town in Southern Ontario") has been witness to that change as National Director and President of Jersey Canada. Brian describes his years on the Board as an exciting time. Among the many happenings of those nine years he notes an increase in exports; tremendous milk production with many records broken; an increase in and strengthening of memberships and registrations; increased young sire usage. One of the most significant events that occurred during Brian's tenure was the introduction and acceptance of the Goal's For The Nineties. These goals represent a turning point in the future of the Jersey breed in Canada and Brian regards them as a mission statement that offers direction for the whole breed.
