Richard and Anna Kapff, Crondall Jerseys, Campbellford, Ontario, arrived in Canada in January of 1994 from Cornwall, England with their two daughters, Cathy (now 14) and Emily (12). Jerseys were their breed of choice during 14 years of farming there, so naturally they continued the Jersey tradition. Richard and Anna became involved with grazing back in England, where most herds are pastured in the summer. It is still possible to find herds that remain outside all year round, but this is now less common.
