This symposium of four papers focuses on the implications of globalization for firm-level adjustment. The papers were first presented in June 2005, at a University of Nottingham conference funded by the Leverhulme Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP). Holger Gorg and Richard Kneller organized the conference and proposed the idea of a symposium issue. Keith Head, as co-editor, handled all of the submitted papers and ensured that each was reviewed by at least one referee not connected to the conference. Nine papers were originally submitted and reviewed according to usual CJE practices and standards.
