Les institutions patrimoniales, telles que les bibliothèques et les centres d'archives jouent un rôle important dans la préservation et l'accès aux documents d'intérêt culturel et patrimonial. La numérisation de ces documents est une entreprise essentielle dans l'atteinte de ces objectifs. Cet article commence par examiner la mémoire collective en fonction de sa définition et de son usage et en explorant le rôle des institutions patrimoniales dans l'exercice de la mémoire collective. Les avantages et les problèmes découlant du processus de numérisation de matériels touchant aux documents d'intérêt culturel et patrimonial y sont également discutés. Cet article conclue en considérant les enjeux liés à la préservation et à l'accès aux matériels touchant à l'héritage culturel (ou documents de nature patrimoniale) ainsi que leurs impacts dans le maintien de la mémoire collective au sein des institutions.%Cultural heritage institutions play an important role in preserving and providing access to cultural heritage materials. Digitizing those collections has become an essential task in fulfilling this role. This paper begins by examining collective memory by its definition and usage and by exploring the function of cultural heritage institutions in collective remembering. The benefits and challenges that arise in the process of digitization when digitally remediating cultural heritage materials are discussed. This paper concludes by considering issues in preserving and providing access to cultural heritage materials and their impact on sustaining collective memory in institutions.
