Exhibitors at UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA, the trade fair for confectionery processing and packaging technology, took advantage of the continuing strong demand for sweets that's being generated by Russia's 145 million inhabitants. From January 29 to February 1, they spent four busy days at the Moscow fairgrounds in Krasnaya Presnya, impressing the 24,000 trade visitors (1,000 more than last year) who came from throughout the Russian Federation and many neighboring countries to attend the fair. Although Russian, Italian and German suppliers formed the biggest exhibitor contingents, there were also participants from France, the Czech Republic and Turkey.
